The Music Room

Today has been a great day so far if I must say so myself! Ollie and I went upstairs to my music room and just danced around while listening to some of my music collection. Music has always been a very important part of me and who I am as a person. I began playing the guitar when I was eight years old and never stopped. My first guitar was given to me by my grandparents. It was a cheap electric guitar that I later sold because I didn't have an amp at the time and I wanted an acoustic electric. I ended up
getting one a couple years later at a place in Ventura, CA called Guitar Planet. As soon as I got my brand new baby, I began guitar lessons. An older gentleman named Randy taught me really amazing rifts and the first actual song I learned from him was Landslide by one of my idols Stevie Nicks! I'll never forget that day. He helped me improve so much. I recently went back to guitar planet late last year with my love to look at some new guitars. I ended up buying a small amp for my current guitar at home and it was honestly, such a great purchase. I love it.

I have been collecting records religiously for about four years now. I currently have just over 300 records in my collection. Aladdin Sane was actually one of my very first records that I bought. I have a huge love for David Bowie. He is my hero and my biggest musical inspiration. He is definitely one of the reasons why I love playing and singing my own music.
Etta James. What an incredible voice she has. She's so perfect in every way. I grew up listening to her. Whenever my mom and I would go on little trips up the coast, we would listen to her entire record on repeat. She is another huge inspirations to me for sure.

The doors, Billy Idol, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, The Eagles, Joan Jett etc. My childhood! When I was little my parents would always put these legends on in our house especially on cleaning day, and we would just dance around. Music has changed so much throughout the years and as much as I like some new music, I always find myself coming back to classic Rock n' Roll. I'll always remember when my papa was first teaching me how to drive and we were driving around town listening to the classic rock station and all of a sudden Bowie came on. It was Rebel Rebel and we just started singing along, having the best time. My papa is the biggest fan of classic rock and so when I showed him my record collection he just about passed out. So thank you papa for always rocking out with me to some of our favorite bands and for being there for me.

Thats it for us today folks! Be sure to visit us again here on the blog <3
